Mr. Bayes, 72, died yesterday afternoon at the Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton from an apparent heart seizure. He had been in declining health for the past six months. A native of Danville, he was: son of the late David and Lenore Yates Bayes. Most of his life was spent at Pelham before he went to live with his son in Warrenton a year ago.

Before retiring 12 years ago, he was employed by Vulcan Materials Co. He was a member of Pelham United Methodist Church. He was married to Etta Mae Streets Bayes, who died July 6, 1964.
